The DI Monkeypox Virus Freeze-Dried Duplex kit is an investigational test based on real-time PCR technology for the qualitative detection of monkeypox virus DNA (MPXV) and a human housekeeping gene (RNAseP) as an endogenous internal control.
The DI Monkeypox Virus Freeze-Dried Duplex kit is intended for laboratories receiving blood samples, oropharyngeal or mucocutaneous samples (taken by an authorised healthcare professional). Therefore, a nucleic acid extraction must be performed prior to testing. The kit must be used with a real-time thermal cycler.
